MISSION STATEMENT: To be the pre-eminent Interior Design organization in Southern Arizona
GOAL I PROMOTE ASID TO THE PUBLIC AND TO DESIGN PROFESSIONALS
Objective A: Actively pursue the public’s hiring of ASID Designers 1) Strategy- Build Brand recognition though Communication A) Tactic- Broadcast our Website by including website address in: advertisements, local publications, link in National ASID website B) Tactic-Broadcast our participation in Community Projects e.g. Ronald McDonald House, Street of Dreams, Sensational Settings, Showhouses, Home Tours C) Tactic: Actively participate in Community Publications by: writing articles, volunteer projects for the newspapers, advertisements 1)Include the ASID appellation or logo in ALL articles or advertisements 2) Strategy- Build our Brand through Education A) Tactic- Create an ASID Interior Design Week in Tucson to tie in with our Home Tour or Design Awards Gala 1) Hold lectures in public forums B) Tactic- Invite public to appropriate meetings and CEU”s C) Tactic- Invite allied design professionals ( IIDA, Architects, Landscape architects) to educational meetings, CEU’s, events, student presentations
3) Strategy- Team up with Industry Partners who meet the Public A) Tactic- Get and give referrals through our own internal network
Objective B: Strengthen professional Membership in ASID 1) Strategy- Add qualified design professionals to our membership A) Tactic- Invite unaffiliated and other affiliated design professionals to educational meetings B) Tactic- Consider ALL members of ASID as recruiters Suggestion: one free meeting to persons who recruit a new member C) Tactic- Hold new member and prospective member teas or cocktail parties several times a year 2) Strategy- Actively help members to elevate membership from Allied to Professional and from Student to Allied membership A)Tactic- Organize study groups for Allied members interested in taking the NCIDQ B)Tactic-mentor on 1-1 basis throughout process C) Tactic- provide access to a STEP Course D) Tactic- Ask student chapters to talk to Seniors about moving into Allied membership soon after graduation
Objective C: Vigorously promote the products of Industry Partners to ASID members and the public 1) Strategy –Become familiar with Industry Partner products Strategy- Continue to open meetings to Industry Partners products A) Tactic- Continue practice of tabletops B) Tactic- Continue to hold a Trade Fair open to All Industry Partner Members C) Tactic- Encourage Networking among ALL ASID members, IP members and designers alike D) Tactic-Hold meetings and special events in Industry Partner Facilities 2)Strategy- Utilize Publications to which we already have Access A) Tactic- Include all Industry Partners names in our directory B Tactic- List Industry Partner businesses that have been used in ASID member projects that are published
GOAL II MAINTAIN THE STRENGTH OF ASID, ARIZONA SOUTH CHAPTER
Objective A: Expand members' qualifications 1) Strategy –An educational component to be paramount for at least six (6) meetings a year 2) Strategy- Continuing education (CEU”s) to be held at least twice a year A) Tactic- One CEU per year to be at a nominal cost to each ASID member since we will avail ourselves of one free CEU from National ASID B) Tactic- One CEU a year to be given at as low a cost as possible 3) Strategy- Encourage Excellence in Design A)Tactic- Celebrating excellent design by holding a Design Competition once a year and publishing the results 4) Strategy- Provide a Social Setting for Networking and Friendship Opportunities at least Twice (2X) a year A)Tactic- Hold Holiday party B) Tactic- Entertain the idea of a Theatre Party

Objective C: Nurture Student chapter members 1) Strategy- Provide mentoring Opportunities A)Tactic- Participate and support, monetarily, a Career Day for all Student ASID Chapters B) Tactic- Encourage increased participation in Chapter activities 2) Strategy-Monitor and Increase our Scholarship Fund
Objective D: Insure that our Chapter remains Fiscally Sound 1) Strategy- Continue to put Money into our Savings Account as mandated by National A)Tactic- Chapter meetings must contain a modest profit component B) Tactic- CEU's must be self-supporting C) Tactic- Special Events must generate revenue as dictated by the Annual Budget e.g. Gala Awards Celebration Event Trade Show Home Tour Wine tasting Event etc
